Specializing in precision mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, Mike Hatch provides ANSYS
finite element, MATLAB modeling and vibration problem solving consulting services. One
particular area of expertise is in the application and modeling of ball bearings and
structures involving ball bearings.
Techniques and programs for developing small, efficient MATLAB models from the
results of large finite element models are documented in his book,
Vibration Simulation Using MATLAB and ANSYS.
Mike has over 30 years of experience in the design and analysis of disk drives. During
his 13 years of consulting, he has worked with over 35 companies in the U.S., Europe and
Asia.
His consulting work ranges from:
- specific problem solving
- detailed finite element and MATLAB models of structures
- consulting at an overview level, assisting management in assessing program status
